Andersonville is situated in western Edgewater and is located seven miles north of Chicago’s Loop. Andersonville was originally home primarily to Swedish immigrants and at one time Chicago contained more Swedes than any other city outside Stockholm. North Clark Street, from Foster (5200N) to Bryn Mawr (5600N) is the commercial center of the community. Uptown loosely runs from Foster to Irving Park Road/Montrose and Lake Michigan to Ravenswood/Clark. The commercial and cultural center of Uptown has always been on Broadway. Edgewater is a lakefront community and runs from Foster to Devon and from Lake Michigan to Ravenswood. Rogers Park is Chicago’s northernmost neighborhood and is situated between Devon and Howard Street, and Lake Michigan to Ridge Boulevard. Rogers Park extends all the way to Evanston, the first community north of Chicago. Andersonville, Uptown, Edgewater and Rogers Park have some of Chicago’s best places to grab a drink, cup of coffee, listen to music, eat spectacular food and much more.
