The Triangle, is a region in the Piedmont of North Carolina, anchored by Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. The “Triangle” name came into being during the 1950s because of the numerous high-tech companies, universities and enterprises in the area. Raleigh is the capital of North Carolina and is known as the “City of Oaks.” Durham is home to Duke University and has a very different feel and vibe than Raleigh.
