Peace Hotel (Fairmont) + Jazz Bar art deco masterpiece

Granite, terra cotta and art deco at its finest on The Bund. Originally The Sassoon House and later Cathay Hotel, the building was taken over by the municipal government in 1952 and became The Peace Hotel in 1956. Full of every amentity and service and spectacular views from rooftop terrace. The Jazz Bar features live entertainment and efforttly transports its partons to the 1920s and 1930s. “The oldest band is the Peace Old Jazz band, composed of six veteran musicians, whose average age is 76. They have performed every night for over 20 years in Shanghai China.”
