The Jane Hotel unique intimate and inexpensive lodging

Located on the very western edge of the West Village at the Hudson River, The Jane oozes authentic charm. Completed in 1908 for the American Seaman’s Friend Society Sailor’s Home by the same architect who designed the Ellis Island immigration station; survivors of the Titanic stayed at the hotel in 1912. Well priced for the traveler who values experience over space, restored 50 square foot cabins with a single or bunks; communal baths; handful of larger quarters exist. Whether or not a guest of the Jane, hang at the rooftop bar and ballroom, if in fact they are open.
