Ritz Carlton (Taj) iconic luxury hotel

Opened as The Ritz Carlton, the stately Back Bay hotel, overlooking Public Garden, has stood guard since 1927. In 2007 the hotel was sold and changed its name to Taj. The origina ldeveloper, Edward N. Wyner, received permission from Hotel Ritz Paris to use the name. Shortly after, The Ritz Carlton Investing Company, headed by Albert Keller, opened the hotel. Being the first Ritz Carlton Hotel in the United States, through several different transactions, formed the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, now part of Marriott.
